Lovely Second Fiddle

I kept hearing whispers about this brilliant song by Daniel Crawford, accompanied by my friend Josh (the fiddle player). This song will officially be on repeat all day. Perfect soundtrack to kick off this short week.

Josh and I grew up together in Houston and he is beyond talented. Check out his other band, Brother of Pearl. Now, excuse me, I'm going to go listen and pretend that I'm sitting on my porch in the country.

Lovely Garden Summer Trailer

Came across this trailer, and can't help but wonder if I could live off the land in the Ozarks.
It seems like a dream escape; getting out of the city and planting roots in a beautiful garden.
However, I love the experience of restaurant dining, the ambience, decor and most of all, no dirty dishes.
Either way, this is a documentary I am excited to watch!

Don't you just want to frolic in a field after that? I love the attire that accompanies farm life, too.
Would you join the Garden Summer Society?

Lovely Bread & Butter

Hi.

Soooo, I got a new job. Yay! Which explains my disappearing act the past two months. I am now a New Media Account Executive with Bread and Butter PR and loving every busy minute. Definitely adjusting to the 9-5 life, but who can complain when I get to talk about food all. day. long. Pure happiness, like Lisa Hannigan in this music video. Doesn't she just look so content and full of joy?

I might not be awesome at updating my blog, but I'm fully active on Pinterest and Instagram, so be sure to follow me there!

Lovely Wayfare Magazine

I'm speechless. Wayfare Magazine just took my breath away with its stunning photography and travel documentaries. I need to jet set off to Paris, Patagonia, South Africa or Oregon immediately. All of the above will suffice. Also, they have provided my music for the afternoon, which I greatly appreciate.

My favorite part of digital magazines? Clicking straight to the item I want {scratch that, need} to add to my wish-list. Below are some sneak peeks, but do yourself a huge favor and go flip through their digital pilot issue now.

Lovely "Keep Calm and Carry On" Video

I love all things WWI and WWII history, which explains my current book {The Paris Wife} and television obsession {Downton Abbey}. I'm sure you have seen the trendy posters...

:: Keep Calm and Carry On ::
:: Keep Calm and Blog ::
:: Keep Calm and Drink Coffee ::

... and all the other parodies. Well, did you know the original phrase has a significant history? This poster truly brought about hope that still resonates today. Check out the fascinating story behind the phrase, font and design.

Lovely Round Top Weekend

This past weekend consisted of quality time with friends on the back porch in Round Top. Might be one of my all time favorite things. We dined on burgers, pizza, beer & wine, strolled the town square & bundled up by the fire. My friend Ashley, an incredible iPhoneographer, captured the weekend perfectly!

Lovely Dolly Parton

Last night, we dined at one of my favorite Austin restaurants, Ranch 616. The menu is incredible, but most of all I love the atmosphere. It is the perfect mix between quirky Austin and true Southwest Texas style. Blend in a dollop of classic country for the soundtrack, and you have created a gift to the Austin community.

In honor of last night, I'm featuring one of my favorites, Ms. Dolly Parton.
