Simply Beautiful

I find these rooms from The Paris Apartment simply beautiful.  Plain palettes allow for the true beauty of key items & colors to stand out with elegance.

White linen sheets & a chandelier make this room divine.

... can't put into words how content this dining area makes me feel.

I long for a giant mirror.

Simplicity at it's best.
{Itching to have a home of my own one day to decorate.}

Country Home Sweet Home

In a Texas state of mind...
You might have heard me mention Round Top, TX and wondered to yourself "huh?".  Well, Round Top is a small town in-between Houston & Austin where the largest antique festival in Texas takes place.  Here are some pictures from my favorite photographer that captures the essence of Round Top beautifully:

If you are wondering, I'm not biased because Keely Marie is my sister, she is my favorite photographer.  Check out all of her Round Top pictures here and her blog here.

Versatility is Key

Just wanted to say THANK YOU for all the wonderful & uplifting comments on my new nook!! Also, thank you to everyone who has bought a Loving Wings headpiece!  They are going fast down in Round Top, TX so if you're in the neighborhood stop by Ethel's Two Cents in Coles! Here are some pics of the headpieces and various ways to use them:

They are custom-made! Shoot me an e-mail if you see one you want.

The New Nook

Inspired by Coco+Kelley, I decided to create a desk nook in my apartment.  The criteria was that i could only spend a certain amount of money. So, I searched the apartment for things to re-arrange and here is the ending result:

This is my grandmother's old letter desk; I love the vintage yellow.  I hung the top piece to provide more desk space.

The little bird adds a touch of inspiration.

The file holder is actually a letter divider from Target.

With a tiny amount of space to work with, I'm very happy with the results! What does your workspace look like?

Hello Bean!

Today, I would like to introduce you to a dear friend of mine, Bean
Bean was created by Nora, a friend from Houston, and he brings a smile to my face daily. Whenever I am having a glum day, I know that Bean will do something to make me laugh.  I mean who doesn't adore a bean that likes pizza...
...Listens to good music...
...Lived in New York...
& Visits France!

Have you had your serving of Bean(s) today?!

Sleeping to Dream...

Up late redecorating my apartment, writing cover letters & applying for jobs.  Pictures of the new desk area to come tomorrow, but wishing I could fall asleep in this cozy bedroom right now.

{Might have posted this before, but can't find the credit.  They deserve credit though because it's a beautiful room!}

Tie-Dye Vision

I have a serious case of Tie-Dye vision.  An avid shopper, I tend to gravitate towards the trend-proof items; however, I've been infatuated with Tie-Dye recently.  Check out some of my favorite finds:

A splendid sleep mask from Free People

Divine summer dress from Gypsy 05.

Sophisticated tie-dye skirt from Gypsy 05.
paired with...
The perfect white tank top from Free People.

What has your fashion vision been lately?

Light Sewing

Here is another amazing idea from Blue Moss (yes, I'm obsessed) via Everyday Beauty.  Take some vintage sewing patterns and create a strand of lights!  Take a look at the visuals!

{Take some vintage sewing patterns}

{Find a Strand of Lights, she used fun candy lights!}

{Cut the paper with scalloped scissors on top and straight edge on bottom.  Then wrap the paper around the light until satisfied.  Finally, tape the straight edged bottom off with floral tape.}

{ The Finished Product!}

For the true step-by-step instructions go here.  I think I've found my DIY project for the weekend!

Mint

A blog that I follow from time-to-time is holding a vote online for their new logo.  This is my cup of tea, I love the creative process and adore that Mint is allowing their followers to give input, it's the ultimate focus group!  Go here and vote for your favorite!

Ruffle Heaven

Thanks to the help of Blue Moss I found the pillows I have been searching for since last May.  The pillows are made by Hettle and sold on their Etsy page. Here are the options:

I will for sure be getting the rose pleat pillow for my bed.  It's the perfect finishing piece I've been searching for at just the right price.

I absolutely love, Love, LOVE this pillow too.  The white canvas with ruffle layers would soften my couch and bring a fresh look to the living room.

Introducing...Knack

I would like to introduce you to the new love of my life, Knack.  Browsing through their website, blog and flickr accounts I began to drool over the amazing pieces.  Take a look:

Knack has inspired me to create an inspiration board, something that I've always wanted to do, the only problem is finding space in my apartment.  Do you have an inspiration board?  If so, e-mail me a pic or post a comment.

Spring Ideas 3

Here is the final round of Spring Ideas from EcoSalon:

Host a Clothing Swap:
Invite a bunch of friends over, enjoy some cocktails, and trade clothes.  Everybody needs some new life to their closet, so why not swap out your old for some vintage wear?

Hold a Garage Sale:
This is a great way to make some extra cash and clean out your house while working on your tan!

Mmmm Potluck Dinner:
For little to no money you can be dining like a King with all of your friends.  Send out e-vites to everyone asking each person to bring a certain item (appetizer, entree, etc.) and enjoy the great outdoors with a potluck picnic!

{I would love your ideas! Please leave a comment or e-mail me so we can create a Spring Ideas 4 together!}
