Lovely {Musical} Invitation

My mind is blown away by the genius behind this wedding invitation. Seriously. How awesome is this "simple" invite turned record player? Not to mention, what couple doesn't want an original song?

Lovely Birdsong

This engagement shoot combined a few of my favorite things: food, balloons and the future Birdsongs. In 4 days this sweet, inspiring, creative, funny and energetic couple are getting married and I can not wait! So, I thought today would be the perfect time to share photos from our very Austin engagement shoot. Big thanks to Whole Foods on Lamar for all your help. Enjoy!

Lovely Sauteed Pork & Pears

We all know I love healthy and versatile dishes, and this one fits the bill! The pork and pear combination makes me smile. There are no other words. Add mashed potatoes, a vinaigrette salad and sparkling view...I have officially reached my happy place.

Sauteed Pork and Pears

{First, pat your pork chops dry. We chose a bone-in center cut piece about 3/4 inch thick.}

Sauteed Pork and Pears

{Season with salt and pepper.}

Sauteed Pork and Pears

{Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium heat.}

Sauteed Pork and Pears

{Sautee pork chops about 5 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 140 degrees. Then remove and cover with foil.}

Sauteed Pork and Pears

{Toss pears in 1tsp. sugar, 1/4tsp. salt and 1/8tsp. pepper.}

Sauteed Pork and Pears

{Add pears to the empty pan and toss for 2 minutes, until they start to brown. Then add 3/4 cup of chicken stock. Simmer until pears soften. Remove and place pears under foil.

Sauteed Pork and Pears

{Add 2 tbls of butter, 1 tbls. balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper to chicken broth. Raise to a simmer. Sauce will slightly thicken then remove from heat.}

Sauteed Pork and Pears

{Plate and spoon sauce over sauteed pork and pears.}

Sauteed Pork and Pears

{Add your favorite sides and enjoy!}

Sauteed Pork and Pears

{A nice view never hurts either.}

Lovely Open Arms Shop

It's officially time for spring cleaning. A glorious day spent organizing, sorting and piling. If you're like me, you always have a stash of old t-shirts in the giveaway pile. Well, this year put those t-shirts to good use and give them to the Open Arms Shop in Austin, TX.

Open Arms provides refugee women in America a living wage, necessary income for food, shelter and housing. Regardless of their education, most refugee women in America end up trapped in an unbreakable cycle of poverty. Open Arms places these women and their families on an upward path of integration and prosperity.

The shop measures success against a triple bottom line that is economic (employ), ecologic (engage) and social (enjoy). I'd say that's a bottom line we could all learn to live by.

Lovely {Texas Shower} Weekend

Y'all might remember a few weeks back when I mentioned King Cole's texas wedding shower? Well, the big event took place last Saturday with tons of friends and family enjoying the Texas hill country, picnic fried chicken, beer & pie. Most importantly, our family loved getting to spend some time with the happy couple before the big day! Here are a few snapshots from the party.

{Sidenote: My mother is amazing. Just look at the vintage design details. Praying that I inherit her natural decorating gift.}
